Praying For A Miracle

Every human being at one point or another has prayed for a miracle to happen in their lives. But the greatest miracle has already occurred the day you were born. Life within itself is the greatest miracle. For seventeen years of my life, I help women give birth to their own tiny miracles. It was by far my best job ever. I am a retired and disabled Labor and Delivery nurse. Yes……It was hard work for both the patient and I. I was so focused on keeping my patients pain levels down. I used both visualization techniques and narcotic injections. The ultimate in pain relief was the God of Wonders……the Almighty Epidural. The miracle anesthesia that would numb a patient so much that her legs would be too floppy to hold up during delivery. For the addict, their addiction of choice only brings temporary relief to their emotional turmoil. When the high is over, the problem still exists. Unlike the miracle production called childbirth, addiction gives birth to a plethora of unending problems. The addict is then stuck praying for yet another miracle and singing the song……All I need is a miracle by Mike and the Mechanics. Stop praying for miracles and start living your miracle.
