The Strength To Say No

Saying no to addictive behaviors can be difficult and challenging at times. Sometimes just the thought of using or abusing sends your mind racing. You can beat the self-defeating habits that trouble you. There is a better way to deal with the problems of life. It is called…..facing the reality of life head on.The world we live in is not perfect. With the start of each new day, we are faced with making decisions that can be life changing. Our hurts, habits, and hangups are temporary setbacks. Have you ever thought that your problems were really bad? There is always someone out there in a much more difficult situation. There is the old saying that God never gives you more that you can handle. It all starts with never giving up hope that you will recover. Recovery takes patience and perseverance. Most importantly, It takes courage to say no to addictive behaviors. Do not beat yourself up. Slips in recovery do happen. Eventually you will get sick and tired of being sick and tired. The strength to say no to addiction needs to be exercised frequently. The road to recovery will then bring you a peace of mind unlike any other. You will find the courage to face each new day with the hope and joy that recovery will give you.
