Step 3

Step 3: We made a decision to turn our wills and our lives over to the care of God. God cares about our lives in recovery. When addiction rules an addict’s life, the addict may feel that nobody cares. Slowly, through turning our wills over to God there comes an understanding that recovery brings new habits into our lives. Walking through the doors of Celebrate Recovery adds a whole new dimension to the recovery process…..God. God means Good Orderly Direction. G.O.D. God brings direction to our hurts, habits, and hangups. God directs our every waking and sleeping moment. Before you even get out of bed in the morning, thank God for another day free from addiction. Grab your Life Recovery Bible and read a passage from it. If a bible verse touches your heart, write it down in your recovery journal. How has the bible verse inspired you? How can you relate to the bible verse. Ask God to show you what lesson you need to learn from His word. Don’t forget to date your entry. Years from now you will come across your journal and see how much God cared about you. God will never stop caring about you. It is just that sometimes we forget about caring about God.
