I Can Only Imagine

The loss of Robin Williams is a tragic loss for his family and those who admired him. My prayers go out to his family. I admired him for his ability to make people laugh. I can only imagine him being a Heavenly Comedian. Suicide, depression, and bipolar depression are touchy subjects. There is a stigma about it. Over the next few days, weeks, and months, social media will be blasting the dis-EASE of Mental Illness. It’s human nature. But I will not go there. I refuse to look down on Mental Illness as being a shameful disease. I know it all too well. It is time. Time to break the stigma. Time to come out of the closest of Mental Illness. What holds an individual back is the fear of being branded “crazy”. Every addict has reached rock bottom at on point or another. For some rock bottom is death. But before that bottom is hit, there is hope and help. Reach out to a professional. Call a trusted friend. If you are ever in a crisis in the United States, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. Please check out their website at http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org.
