Letter Writing For Recovery

When was the last time you sat down to write a letter or write in your recovery journal? I find myself making excuses. But now I have run out of excuses. Time seems to slip away from me. I find myself being bored. Boredom leads to thoughts. Thoughts lead to addictive behaviors. What keeps me grounded is my writing my thoughts down in my journal. I am getting ready to take an orientation class to volunteer at a local hospice. I hope to be able to journal the thoughts of the hospice patients I will be working with. This simple act of writing will somehow leave behind a legacy of memories. What legacy will you leave behind? Write down words that inspired you. These words might be bible verses. How have bible verses impacted your life? Reflect on a time that someone had said or done something for you that made you feel good. Never stop encouraging those who struggle in life. After all, a kind word can go a long way. I hope you enjoy the following link to a video. May it inspire you to write your own letters.
