Recovery Is Doing Whatever It Takes

Recovery is necessary for your survival. It is the clean air you breathe. It is your life’s resource. In order to recover, you have to do whatever it takes. A recovering alcoholic told me recently that his mother did not understand why he had to go to so many meetings. Going to meetings is an integral part of recovery from any addiction. Within the meetings of Celebrate Recovery you will find the answers to your hurts, habits, and hangups. There is no other way than to surrender or give up your addiction(s). Yes, you can have more than one addiction.

The following bible verse is from The Celebrate Recovery Bible NIV published by Zodervan. Proverbs 2: 6-8. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

If you remain faithful to God, he will guard your course in recovery. He will be a shield for you and protect you from the affliction called addiction. He will give you victory over your hurts, habits, and hangups. He will give you the courage and wisdom to understand what true recovery looks like. As this month closes, let us rejoice and be glad for finding peace, hope and understanding of what Celebrate Recovery has to offer us.
