The Power Of Giving And Receiving

I learned a valuable lesson last week. I followed the Holy Spirit’s direction and made a donation to a mission trip. I found out tonight how my donation was put to good use overseas. God is good. Addiction causes total chaos in body, mind, and spirit. In a state of chaos, an addict only thinks of one thing himself and how can he get his next fix. This then becomes an unhealthy fixation. Every good thought and action then goes out the door. At one point the addict may become sick and tired of being sick and tired. Whether in America or overseas, the effects of addiction is the same. Nothing good ever comes from being addicted. But once in recovery, an individual can find the help that they need. Recovery is a lifelong process. This process takes time. There are steps to be followed. Old habits need to be changed into new ones. Celebrate Recovery and twelve step programs can help individuals receive the support that they need. Receiving the gift of recovery should be cherished as a priceless gift. Enjoy the gift of recovery and never return it like an unwanted gift.
